You Want Fanatics to Have Nuclear Weapons?

December 5, 2012

“Since the advent of nuclear weapons, you've had countries that have had access to nuclear weapons who always made a careful calculation of cost and benefit, but Iran is guided by a leadership with an unbelievable fanaticism. It's the same fanaticism that you see storming your embassies today. You want these fanatics to have nuclear weapons?”

—From an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press

In August, “120 countries gathered in Tehran and heard the Iranian leader's slanderous anti-Semitic statements against Israel. No one got up and left the auditorium. This becomes even more serious in light of the International Atomic Energy Agency report which confirmed what I've been saying for a long time: Sanctions may be a burden, but they do not delay the progress of the nuclear program.

“The Iranians are taking advantage of the talks in order to gain time and advance their nuclear program. You need to tell it like it is; the international community has not set a clear red line; Iran doesn’t see enough determination to stop its nuclear program.”

—Prime Minister Netanyahu speaking at the opening of a weekly cabinet meeting

Benjamin Netanyahu “We want to see the three great religions that sprang forth from our region—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—coexist in peace and in mutual respect. Yet, the medieval forces of radical Islam, whom you just saw storming the American embassies throughout the Middle East; well, they oppose this.

“They are bent on world conquest. They want to destroy Israel, Europe, America. They want to extinguish freedom. They want to end the modern world…They want to drag humanity back to an age of unquestioning dogma, unrelenting conflict. I’m sure of one thing: ultimately, they will fail. Ultimately, light will penetrate the darkness.”

Listing Hizbullah, Al-Qaeda, and Iran's Revolutionary Guards as emissaries of this extremist Islamic movement, he said that “despite their differences, they’re all rooted in the same bitter soil of intolerance…

“Throughout history, we have been at the forefront of efforts to expand liberty, promote equality, and advance human rights. We champion these principles not despite our traditions but because of them. We heed the words of the Jewish prophets Isaiah, Amos, and Jeremiah to treat all with dignity and compassion, to pursue justice and cherish life, and to pray and strive for peace. These are the timeless values of my people, and these are the Jewish people’s greatest gift to mankind. Let us commit ourselves today to defend these values so that we can defend our freedom and protect our common civilization.”

FROM THE VOICE OF FANATICISM

We'll Sacrifice Our Blood for Mohammed

www.drybones.com Hizbullah's leader [Hassan Nasrallah] left his bunker and made a rare public appearance at a rally in Beirut denouncing an anti-Islam film that provoked unrest in Muslim countries worldwide. Nasrallah does not usually appear in public for fear of assassination.

Speaking to a crowd of tens of thousands of supporters, he said, “God's prophet, we will sacrifice ourselves, our blood, our families, and our money for your honor. The world needs to understand our links to god's [Allah’s] prophet [Muhammed]…It did not understand the level of the insult that god's prophet was subjected to through some of the clips of this insulting film,” said Nasrallah, who has been living in hiding since Hizbullah's month-long war with Israel in 2006.

Nasrallah urged governments across the world to censor Web sites featuring clips from the amateurish film, produced in California, and urged Muslims to ban those sites. “America, which uses the pretext of freedom of expression…needs to understand that putting out the whole film will have very grave consequences around the world,” the leader of the Shiite group warned.

He predicted that the wave of protests against the film “will not be a passing outburst but the start of a serious movement that will continue on the level of the Muslim nation to defend the prophet of god.”

“What happened stresses the Muslims' need to unite, even if they disagree on occasion,” he told the terror group's supporters, who chanted “Death to America, Death to Israel” while marching through Beirut's Shiite southern suburbs in protest against the film.

An Israeli Strike Only a “Mosquito Bite”

Reza Rahimi

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi equated an Israeli strike on the Islamic Republic to “a mosquito biting an elephant,” the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

“They've been defeated by Hizbullah and now they want to threaten us,” Rahimi said at a ceremony. “They should know that the lion's tail should not be toyed with.” Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi made similar comments during an interview in Egypt. Salehi said that Israel is in no position to attack Iran, “a regional power.”

Revolutionary Guards Commander General Mohammad Ali Jafari warned that “nothing will remain” of Israel if it takes military action against Tehran over its controversial nuclear program.

We Can Cause Massive Losses

“What the Zionists have, nuclear weapons-wise, could cause us major casualties should they attack Syria. In contrast, we could cause massive losses to their nuclear facilities, and we wouldn't need more than 20 missiles.”

—Bahjat Suleiman, Syrian Ambassador to Jordan
