Using light pressure, a handheld cordless electronic applicator applies a drug-embedded patch to the skin. Micro-electrodes at the end of the applicator creates microscopic passageways through the outer layer of the skin during the one-second application. A green or red light on the device indicates if the application was successful. Once the device is lifted and the patch is closed, the medication is absorbed into the inner skin.
