Peretz said he believes 2007 will be a critical year for thwarting the Iranian nuclear plan, and that while he welcomes the diplomatic efforts being made, other options cannot be ruled out. “Iran presents a threat not only to Israel, but to the entire free world,” he said. He added that Israel expects the United States and the entire world to support Israel’s position and “stand by us.”
