Experiments showed that the glass-asphalt mixture functions well in all types of weather and under heavy traffic. Using these large amounts of glass prevents having to bury it in dumps and, therefore, is a great environmental benefit.

“In addition…we must also confirm the expected advantages of light reflection at night and the effects of friction between the tire and the road,” said Professor Ilan Iishai of the civil and environmental engineering faculty, who headed the research team.
