Thursday, 10 October 2024 | Six people were wounded, two of them critically, in a terrorist attack in Hadera, north of Netanya, on Wednesday.

A large number of security personnel arrived at the scene of the attack, and the assailant was neutralized.

The wounded were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, according to the Magen David Adom [MDA] emergency service. Two people were admitted in critical condition, three in serious condition and one in moderate condition, the hospital said.

Earlier, MDA had reported five victims, including two men, ages 70 and 50, in serious condition, and three men, ages 70, 60 and 55, in moderate condition. All of the victims had suffered stab wounds, according to MDA.

Video circulating on social media appeared to show several security personnel with guns drawn and aimed at the suspect, and police confirmed that he was shot and arrested by officers on the city’s Herbert Samuel Street, near the scene of the attack.

The terrorist was identified as Ahmed Jabarin, a 36-year-old Israeli citizen and resident of Umm al-Fahm.

The stabbing spree happened across four locations, Channel 12 reported.

“The terrorist moved between the locations on a motorcycle. He attacked with an ax and a knife,” Hadera Mayor Nir Ben Haim told Israel Hayom.
