When you volunteer with Bridges for Peace, you never know what special opportunities may come your way as it is our goal to enrich the lives of our volunteers as they serve in the Land.

Recently we were able to go down to Qumran, near the Dead Sea, to help with an archaeological dig. We received word that they needed volunteers to help with the excavation so we quickly put together a group of volunteers for a special day out. Carrying heavy buckets of rubble and sifting through debris gave us a firsthand chance to help find some very important artifacts and we had a great time interacting with the other people on the dig site. Only later did we realize that we were helping to excavate the now famous “Dead Sea Scrolls Cave 12.”
