Back to the Wall

December 14, 2009

The Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth?

The Church of the Nativity in the heart of Bethlehem?

The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem?

      No. The Western Wall.

Castro isn’t alone. The number of visitors at the Wall has spiraled from 2 million in the year 2000 to 8 million in 2008. Those who go to the Wall are not solely Jews. It has become equally popular with non-Jews—particularly after visits by celebrities…not to mention Pope Benedict XVI.
