Many were gold, silver, and bronze Roman coins, but some had Jewish images and words (“for the freedom of Jerusalem”) imprinted on top of the Roman coins. Though the cave was not newly discovered, a new wing of it was found. Since there is little in-depth historical information about this period of history, this discovery is seen as significant.
