In June, after five years of coordinating with 24 ministerial offices, Israel launched its first solar field, which generates enough energy to power three communities. Located at Kibbutz Ketura, 50 k (31 mi) north of Eilat, it is the first of many planned in an effort to have 10% of Israel’s energy from renewable sources by 2020.
