Hundreds of New Immigrants Arrive in Israel

September 16, 2019

by: Rebecca J. Brimmer, Bridges for Peace

On a hot July afternoon, Bridges for Peace was present at the airport to welcome new Jewish immigrants from Russia, Argentina, Brazil, France and Venezuela. The tarmac was teeming with hundreds of people who were there to welcome the arrivals with music, flags, ice cream and joy. Religious leaders, political leaders, the heads of the Jewish Agency and the head of Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (Jewish National Fund) and Christian supporters of Israel were all there to give these newest Israelis a warm welcome. We were honored to participate as one of four Christian organizations who helped sponsor the new arrivals’ aliyah (immigration to Israel). We were deeply moved to see them arrive with hope, excitement and joy. They are the physical, flesh-and-blood proof of God’s faithfulness to keep His promises to Israel.
