Israel’s Citrus Exports Growing

March 21, 2005

Figures indicate a likely drop in global orange production, and a large shortage of grapefruits, due to hurricane damage in Florida. Sadly, 65% of Florida's grapefruit crop was destroyed this year.

Meanwhile, Israel expects a bumper citrus crop of 600,000 tons, 33% more than last year. The citrus crop in other Mediterranean countries is expected to increase by only 3%.
