At the US military Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, researchers have been trying for a number of years to develop the process whereby insects will be used to take aerial shots to track down caches of explosives. In Israel, scientists are developing the special electronic sensors which will be implanted in the insects at the cocoon stage.
