Another find, older still, was a coin minted by the Greek ruler Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the Hanukkah (Festival of Lights) story (175–163 BC). Imprinted with the emperor’s image, this is the first coin of its kind that has been discovered, in near perfect condition, in the Temple Mount rubble. All in all, the Golden City recently revealed some of her finest, whetting the appetite for archaeologists and volunteers alike to search for more of her buried treasure.
