High-school students from Kiryat Bialik, near Haifa participated in a week-long archeological dig in Tzipori, west of Nazareth. The town surrendered to the Romans without a fight during the Great Revolt in AD 66. Thus much of the Tzipori_amulet_web_dispatch_082016_iaa archaeological remains have been saved from destruction and wonderful mosaic floors have been found and preserved.

This past week the students found an Egyptian amulet that the local  archaeologists have dated as being 3,300 years old.
