Virtual 3D Tour of the Knesset Launched

The Knesset, in cooperation with Google, launched a virtual, three-dimensional tour of the Israeli parliament building with Google’s “Street View” feature. The Knesset is now a part of a select group of parliaments and government buildings—including the White House, 10 Downing Street and the Canadian parliament—which people can visit with a click of the mouse.

On the fourth floor, users can see the Plenum from the special viewing balcony, Chagall Hall with its tapestries and mosaics created by artist Marc Chagall along with the wall of MKs who have won the Israel Prize, as well as the exit to the outdoor Knesset Plaza where state ceremonies are held and where the stands offering information on Israel`s fallen soldiers are located.

The virtual Street View tour can be accessed through the Knesset website and the “Government Buildings and Residences” page in Google Maps.

“Today the Knesset is becoming the ‘House of the People’ once again; a glass house which can be toured from the inside,” Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein said at the launching of the virtual tour. “There is a real opportunity here to see the beauty of the Knesset, to appreciate its delightful treasures, walk through its hallways and see the works of Marc Chagall and the wall in the Plenum.”
