Watching the Signs

The destruction of the Second Temple in AD 70 was the beginning of the desolation of the Land of Israel. The world must have laughed at the prophecies that gave hope to the Jewish people for 1,800 years. What happened to the great nation that God promised Abraham? “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you” (Gen.12:2). But God kept His promise and astonished a mocking world on May 14, 1948, when Israel was reborn. It was the greatest “sign of the times” in centuries. The Bible came alive, and its prophecies had to be taken seriously again. For 60 years, we have watched God faithfully fulfill His Word.

We have dedicated portions of this Dispatch from Jerusalem to remembering the mighty deeds and miracles of the Lord on behalf of Israel as she celebrates 60 years of statehood this May. Read about the faithfulness of God to His people wherever you see the ISRAEL@60 emblem in the following pages.
