Why Should Christians Give to Israel Through Bridges for Peace?

June 4, 2008
  1. Bridges for Peace has been headquartered in Israel for more than 30 years. When you send your gift to Israel via BFP, you are sending it to Christians who live in Israel and are not just visiting the Land. We know the people and understand their needs.
  2. Our 70 Christian staff members are ALL involved in the work of blessing Israel. We can be your hands extended to give a pat on the back, a hug, or a warm handshake, showing God’s love every day, all day, even when they aren’t working. It is our prayer that these actions are healing the wounds caused by centuries of Christian anti-Semitism. Some groups raising money from Christians have Jewish staff in Israel who distribute the aid. The people are still helped, but the impact of Christian love is minimally realized.
  3. We encourage relationship building between the donor and the recipient. Sponsors on our Adoption Program are encouraged to write letters, which we translate. Church groups visiting Israel are taken to visit the town they sponsor on our Adopt an Israeli Town Program. Volunteer on the Home Repair Team
  4. Over 20,000 people each month are blessed through Bridges for Peace. Some groups choose to give large gifts to a few recipients (like hospitals, orphanages, etc.). These gifts are wonderful for the nation of Israel and the institutions are helped. However, those who benefit from these institutions may never know that Christians were instrumental in providing them, whereas every one of our recipients knows the gift came from Christians who love Israel.
  5. Bridges for Peace is a ministry of integrity. We are audited annually internationally and in the countries of our seven national offices, and we always receive a good report.

Bridges for Peace is a vision from God, and He is our source. We trust in Him to meet the needs of the ministry and those He wants us to touch. Therefore, the best reason you could have for giving to Bridges for Peace is that it is His ministry, and He is asking you to give.

“You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. So all the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. For the LORD shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer”(Psalm 102:13–17).
